Catt and Matt’s the Boat House wedding was one of the first booked for 2015.
I have to say I’d been looking forward to getting my photographic mitts on this couple at this beautiful venue all year. They describe their wedding as shabby chic, but it was far more elegant than that. The dresses were all bespoke made; from Catt’s beautiful lace fish-tail to the bridesmaids flowing gowns in the wedding colour way of coral and turquoise. Lace was brought through the stationery and doilies featured throughout the day. Against the spectacular backdrop of Ormesby Broad this was one romantic day.
Rain was forecast for the whole morning so everyone made the best of it at Catt’s home on the outskirts of Norwich. It was fairly hectic but a brilliantly fun atmosphere, with eight wonderful women getting ready whilst the men hid in the kitchen. Over at their local church in Ringland, Matt was nervously waiting and kept his mind off things by making sure everything was perfect for Catt’s arrival. When she walked up the aisle with her proud dad, he couldn’t contain his emotion. It was the most meaningful of ceremonies, with Catt’s friends from church all around her. We were thrilled that by the time they said their “I dos” the rain had stopped and the sunshine appeared for the rest of the day.
Catt and Matt had chosen to arrive at the Boathouse via the Broad on a little electric boat. When I caught up with them on the jetty, they were having such a good time that I jumped on board and we took another spin with Matt at the helm. The beautiful view was central to their day and we incorporated the water as much as possible into their photography. The subtle tones of the landscape were echoed in the reception room with floral and pearl candelabras atop doily covered table runners in their accent colours. Catt especially took quite a lot of flack during the speeches but all was said and taken in good humour. As the sun set across the water, everyone had huge amounts of fun in the photo booth and then danced the night away to Joe Ringer’s fantastic band. Thanks to Belinda for welcoming me to her wonderful venue and congrats C&M x
