I thoroughly enjoyed the Norwich Castle wedding of Shamim and Tom.
I arrived on the Castle mound in the early morning sunshine to meet Tom. We were so early in fact that we spent a while watching David Whiteley presenting a segment to camera for the BBC. Before long their guests started to arrive and it was soon time for Shamim to make her entrance. We made sure that everyone was inside before the Mercedes was brought to the door and she looked stunning in her Enzoani gown against the trees. They'd always stressed that it was a low key day, but in no way having an intimate ceremony lessened their emotion, love and commitment.
After confetti and congratulations, I spent a few minutes with them inside the keep and by the castle walls. Today I was spoilt with not one, but two spectacular settings. We were whisked around the corner to the Assembly House for their reception and drinks in the sunny courtyard. The Hobart Room looked beautiful with florals in ivory and cream. When I have the opportunity, I love photographing couples amongst the chandeliers of the Music Room. It's one of my favourite places in the city and I'm still finding new angles to shoot from! As they sat down to a sumptuous three course lunch, I left them to enjoy their time celebrating this most wondrous of days with their wonderful families, both in the room and on skype. Congratulations S&T.
