Pav and Tom created a slice of India in the heart of Norfolk celebrating their wedding at Sprowston Manor.
One of the reasons Pav booked with me was my love of colour and from our earliest meetings it sounded like an epic, vibrant and colourful day. When I arrived early in the morning, Pav already had her make up applied and was half dressed in her ceremony outfit. It was lovely to see both Tracey Ward on hair and future bride Becka being transformed in a sea green saree. I loved all the little touches Pav made to her outfit and the stunning florals with bright sunflowers and dahlias upped the vibrancy again.
Over by the marquee Tom looked equally dashing in his sherwani which matched Pav’s lehenga saree in colour. After their families exchanged garlands, everyone headed into the atmospheric marquee and listened to the wonderful tabla and sitar playing. It was standing room only and if Tom was nervous, I really couldn’t tell. Suddenly the curtains opened and the bridal procession entered. Although they were married with a British civil ceremony, there were still lots of Asian elements. It was wonderful to capture all of the relatives and friends who had travelled from far and wide to celebrate with them.
The marquee was styled in a multitude of colours with Rajasthani umbrellas hanging from the walls, a tuk tuk and abundant flowers. I loved the little favour jars of Bombay mix! Tables were named after their favourite Bollywood movies adorned with little posters. I took them away for a few minutes by the trees, balustrade and beautiful ivy walls, then stayed with them both as they changed into their evening outfits. Tom into a navy suit and Pav a stunning saree in pink and orange. Their entrance into the marquee was brilliant with everyone up and joining them in a dance. The meal included an incredible and delicious array of dishes. During desserts, we were treated to some very heartfelt and emotional speeches. The evening light was stunning so we explored the lake and trees for a few more portraits. This brought us onto the highlight of the day, dancing. Indian music has such a brilliant beat and literally everyone was up on the dance floor with Pav and Tom leading the way. I was promised a wedding full of colour, vibrancy and emotion; it didn’t disappoint. Huge congratulations Pav and Tom.
